- Organizing Your Library Learn the best approach to organizing your library of DJ tracks for efficient workflow. (15:24)
- Building Mixes In this lesson, we cover how to take multiple tracks to create a DJ mix. Learn how to analyze tracks to determine which songs will work together and determine when to mix in and out of a track with another track. (9:25)
- Improvisation Improvisation is the act of combining various DJing principles “on-the-fly” in a performance setting. In this lesson, we cover several DJing concepts and scratching techniques that can be used to enhance your improvisational skills and help you add a voice or character to your performance. (14:03)
- Performing with Effects In this lesson, we take a look at a few of the built-in effects in Traktor and teach you how to apply these effects for use in your DJ mixes and live performance. (9:19)
- Sampling Sampling is the act of taking a portion of a track (either one or more sounds, notes or loops) and reusing it in a different track. In this lesson we discuss how to take a clip from a music track and bring it into Traktor or Serato Scratch Pro to be used in a DJ mix. We use Ableton Live to create the loop, but if you don’t own Ableton Live, you can use a number of other paid and free software programs to create a sample. (15:58)
- Recording a Mix in Traktor Learn how to set recording preferences, record, export and save a mix in Traktor. (8:07)
- Recording a Mix in Serato Scratch Live Learn how to set recording preferences, record, export and save a mix in Serato Scratch Live. (5:20)
